Here we go!

If you read the about, then you got a small taste of who we are. I’m sure as this adventure continues, if you follow along with us, you may get more info than you bargained for. BUT here we go…

Now that we have our daughter, our desire to have our own space(and yard!) has really multiplied. We’ve spent months looking at homes online, and even went to walk through a few. But something about the ‘home buying process’ just never felt right for us. The amount of money that this housing market requires from buyers, made us sick to our stomachs. And how do you find a home and know it’s ‘the one?’ We had a long wish list of things we dreamed of being in our forever home, and our budget just did not line up with our dreams. I personally have always wanted to build my own space. I’ve spent lots of hours drawing rooms and visualizing all the possibilities.

Some like-minded family members introduced us to the concept of dome homes. They felt like this concept resonated with them specifically because of the frequencies created by a dome shape. In dream planning our homesteads, ‘aircrete’ entered the conversation. I will admit that I was immediately skeptical. But then I found DomeGaia. And since spending a few days reading and watching everything available on the topic, I have become obsessed.

Usually the one to check my impulses, Hayden hopped right on board with my scheme. We purchased some equipment from Dome Gaia, got permission to build a practice dome on my parents land, and plan to start as soon as we have everything ready to go! This feels like a soul path that has finally found us. We are hopeful that together with our friends and family, we will be able to build our dream home. And if that goes well, maybe we can help other people to build theirs.
